Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Startup Visa work permit, you must:

Have already submitted a permanent residency application under the SUV program.
Have an innovative business idea that will bring significant economic benefits to Canada.
Show intentions to live and operate your business in a province or territory other than Quebec.
Demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to settle and support your family in Canada.

Conditions of the Work Permit

Is valid for 1 year and allows you to work exclusively as an entrepreneur on your startup.
Is not an open work permit, meaning you cannot work for another employer.
Must be extended or renewed through the regular work permit extension process.

How to Apply for the Startup Visa Work Permit

Use the Employer Portal to fill out necessary forms and pay the required fees.
Once completed, you will receive an offer of employment number, which you will need for the next step.
Gather all required documents, including proof of your permanent residency application and support letter from a designated organization.
Submit your work permit application online via a secure account, and pay the processing fees.
